Since 1985, Dyslexia Tutoring Program (DTP) has operated on a simple belief: everyone deserves to read. For over 40 years we have helped scholars from strategically underinvested communities in greater Baltimore overcome learning differences and unlock their potential. This work doesn’t just change individual lives—it strengthens families, schools, and entire communities.

We know literacy is the cornerstone of economic mobility, personal fulfillment, and social capital. But systemic barriers still deny thousands of dyslexic learners equitable access to the tools, empathy and support they need to thrive. DTP is committed to dismantling these barriers - our vision reaches beyond individuals, working toward real, system level change that serves every reader, in every community, every day - regardless of income, zip code, or learning style .

Your donation supports free one-on-one tutoring by highly trained volunteer tutors, evidence-based multisensory instruction tailored to dyslexic learning styles, and exceptional summer learning experiences that combine rigororous academics with creativity and confidence building. Contributions also support strategic community partnerships to create pathways to educational and professional opportunities beyond high school—so learning to read is just the beginning.
